Its been way too long. I had been very lazy with this, but with the things that have taken place over the last 12 months, I feel like I need somewhere to write and speak my thoughts about sports. The last time I wrote was October 2008. Its September 2009 and FINALLY sports are officailly in full check. Week 1 of the NFL season is over and alot of things have taken place. I got a few thoughts about the NFL:
-The Dolphins looked horrid. I didnt think they could beat Atlanta because of the Falcon's passing attack. Though they only scored 19 points, Miami had a tough time stopping the boys from the ATL, especially on third down. The offensive line looked shaky. The running game wasn't there. Nothing really went Miami's way. They have a big test next monday night when they host the Colts. Indy only scored 14 points in a win vs Jacksonville, but If there is one QB that puts the fear in a team's secondary, it's Peyton Manning. I expect Miami to be 0-2 after Monday night.
-The Eagles looked good but, once again Donavon Mcnabb is injured. this injury isn't his fault because he shouldn't have been hit again after scoring a touchdown. I never thought the Eagles were the third best team in the NFC East, like some people do. They are either the best or second best. Don't expect Michael Vick to play alot at QB when he returns for week 3. HE is still shaky on the field and grasping the QB position is difficult for any person, especially one who has missed the last two seasons.
The Patriots looked unpatriot-like last night, until their final two drives. I still fear Tom Brady, but it took him a while to get into a rhythm. He took sacks he could have avoided. He didn't step into his throws, but it looks like he's got his confidence and swagger back. If that's the case, they will defintely be playing in the Superbowl. The Bills? Well................they are the Bills............
Must suck to be a Bears fan right about now. High expectations for the season with the addition of Jay Cutler. then Sunday night happened. He throws 4 INTs (though he did get me 13 fantasy points to help me win). Brian Urlacher is done for the season with a broken wrist. They also lose to their hated rival in dramatic fashion. The Bears already have holes in their defense and losing theit best defensive player will not make things better.
College Football: I lost about 15 years of my life after last weeks UM/FSU game. It was the best game those teams played since 2002. The second highest rated college football regular season game in ESPN's history. Miami has played in four of the five highest rated college football regular season game in ESPN's history. Interesting...................Miami has got to find a way to stop Ga Tech's rushing attack. I still have nightmares about last years game. 472 yards Miami gave up on the ground. It can't happen again. Jacory Harris reminds me of a black and hip Ken Dorsey. The sky's the limit for him and this team.
I HATE UF fans. I really do. Their team is great and I like Urban Meyer's attitude. That's why I may enjoy watching UF beat the hell out of Tennessee this weekend. Lane Kiffin has started so much drama within the SEC and he will definitely reap what he sews. I expect UF to drop 70. seriously.
Few other thoughts: Kanye West is a moron. Nothing really else to say about that. Lil Mama? The same. She is as relevant as Tila Tequila.
