The Heat need HELP!!
I am very excited about this NBA season. There are teams that are for sure going to make an impact (Lakers, Celtics, Hornets, Pistons). There alre also teams that are under the radar and other that are slipping:
Look out for:
Raptors: After watching him win a gold medal 2 months ago, Chris Bosh out shinned Dwight Howard and is better than Howard. Remember, Bosh was who Pat Riley wanted to draft over Dwyane Wade, but Bosh went to Toronto with the 4th pick. You dont hear much of him, and I cant figure that out. With Jermaine O'Neal healthhya nd his new teammate, they should do big things. I would not be shocked of they become a top 4 seed in the east. Ad an efficient Jose Calderon, when healthy, and they had a good defensive team.
76ers: The sixers got a HUGE addition when they signed Elton Brand in the summer. If his achilles holds up, he's a low post threat to score 20 and 10. Andre Iguodala needs to score more. Going to the basket is fine, but he has to start shooting more. They took the Pistons to the limit in the playoffs last season, but showed their youth. Hopefully, Brands experience helps out alot.
Rockets: They really arent a team under the radar, but if they cant get out the first round this season, T-Mac needs to commit suicide. He isnt geting any younger, but getting Ron Artest is the best thing that could have helped him. Yao Ming will get his points, but Artest is the key piece. Will he big a jerk like he has been? Houstons bench is once of the best, so they should be good on all cylinders.
Watch these teams fall:
Nuggets: He may have not been a big reason for this success, but Denver will sadly miss Marcus Camby. They will be socred on alot, so dont be shocked if they end up in alot of shootouts. Allen Iverson is 33 years old. He still has the wheels, but for how long? Kenyon Martin isnt reliable. Carmelo Anthonys named was put out there for potential trades. That wont stop. They wont make the playoffs, neither will the next team................
Clippers: They basically got screwed when Elton Brand, who said he would resign with them, went to Philly (and a MUCH better situation). I saw them keep up with the Lakers, but that quickly went away and the REAL LA won by 30+. Baron Davis doesnt make much difference. geting Marcus Camby will help them when hes healthy defensively. Signing Ricky Davis? noooooooooooooooooo. Just from that signing, they will not be any good

Ted Ginn......................plays like a WR
When I found out the Teddy Ginn was the 9th overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft, I felt nauseaous. Brady Quinn, the most talked about QB in college, was still avaliable. The Falcons took DE Jaamal Anderson with the 8th pick. They didnt pick Quinn because the didnt need him since they had Michael Vick (boy was THAT a mistake). Anyways, for the life of me, I could not understand it. QB is what the Dolphins desperately needed, but they pick a kick returner. No wonder wht Miami went 1-15 and Cam Cameron got fired. Watching Dolphins training camp, Ginn still didn't look good. Didn't run routes well. He hasn't been used as a returner much this season. FINALLY, Ginn explodes for a great game. Yes, he was up against a injured Terrence McGee, but who cares? When you find out that a opponent is injured, you go at them as often as you could. Thats what Miami did and it worked. Their defense in the 4th quarter was dominant, especially Joey Porter, who is the best defensive player right now in the NFL. Chad Pennington is doing what he supposed, but I didn't think he could throw for 300+ yards. His passer rating is 5th best in football right. As of right now, I can't figure them out. The running game should be better but it isn't. The secondary isn't great, though they picked Trent Edwards once and forced a fumble. That's how it is when you have a rookie head coach I guess. IF Miami played its card right, they could be 5-2. Oh well. I'm just happy they have won more than one game. They could air it out against Denver next week, since the Broncos has the 4th worst pass D in the NFL.
Other thoughts about week 8:
Man, how different does Dallas look?? With a healthy Tony Romo, they could score the total amount of points the scored against Tampa Bay (13) in the first quarter. Wade Phillips took over the defense and it showed. I dont think they can beat the Giants in week 9, especialy without an acurate QB. Either have Brooks Bollinger play or try to play Romo. Brad Johnson can't get it done nor can he keep Terrell Owens happy.
I have been hearing so much about what Miami should do with Robert Marve and Jacory Harris. If Harris is the starter, Marve will NOT transfer. I can't see Marve waiting yet another year for eligibility. I think he can get the job done, thought Harris had a damn good agme vs Duke a few weeks ago.

NFL (well ALL OF FOOTBALL) makes my head hurt
Other reasons why the NFL makes my head hurt:
How in the hell do the Rams beat the Redskins??????????? Washington beats Dallas and Philly in their respective stadiums. They have all 3 of their division rivals at home to play. They looked like the second best team in their division, which is the toughest in fotball. And what happens? They lose a home game to a team who fired their head coach two weeks ago. The Rams are horrid on defense. Man, I was tempted to pick them in my suicide pool (will get to that later), but im happy I didn't.
I keep reading and hearing the critism of Tony Romo. NOW I understand it. The boy is a mean lean fumbling machine. At times, he can be good, but other times, he is shaky and INT prone. The Cowboys should have beat the Cardinals in a shootout. Too many turnovers and issed opportunities. First off, the game should have never went to overtime. You cant call someone offsides when they are injured and cant get off the field in time. Its not their fault. I know time was runnning out, but they could have called an injury timeout and when the injured player was off the field, start the clock before the teams are in formation. I am shaky of the Cowboys. They barely beat the Bengals last week and lost to Washington at home 2 weeks ago. They got some serious inproving to do
One team I have not been impressed with: the Colts. They didn't prove much this season. Their first 2 wins? Barely beat the Vikings and sqeaked a wiin in Houstin in a gae they should have lost. What happens today. They beat down the Ravens, who have the best defense in football. WTF????? All of a sudden Peyton Manning looks like, well Peyton Manning. Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrsion have bg games. The Defense looks good. All I can do is scratch my head.
Enough with the NFL. What about college football. I dont beleive in the polls until the BCS poll comes out, so I dont care for Texas being #1. They are a good team. Finally saw them play. UF beat down LSU. Thought they were gonna lose. Oh well. They wont get past Georgia (I hope). The U looked sloppy yesterday. OF all the teams you can barely beat, UCF!!!!! I still cringe when I watch them play. the offense can go good at times, but the defense is still not so great. I am fine with Robert Marve, but you can pull him out after an INT. Hes a QB, not a LB. IF they would have lost, I would have been furious. 0-3 in 3 home games. Should have beat North Carolina. If they played a subpar first half, could have beat Florida St. I need to see some more improvements on defense and consistency in QB.
I am in my radio station suicide pool. I sweated out NE in week one after Bradys injury. The Giants beat down the Rams. The Bills got by the Raiders. The Jaguars helf off the Texans. The PAnthers destroyed the Chiefs. The Saints shot themselves in the foot last week and lost, despite Reggie Bush doing all the work. I felt that they would bitch slaped the Raiders, and boy they did. 34-3. Then I find out I WON MY SUICIDE POOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im assuming alot of people had the Redksins over the Rams. I didnt even know they were playing until I saw the final score. It was either the Saints over the Raiders or the Eagles over the 49ers. I still would have won. I was just so shocked that the suicide pool is over in week 6!!!! I even said in my previous blog that I was considering picking the Dolphins to beat the Texans. Thank God I didnt. Laptop for me............................................

Almost a BAD weekend
I was looking forward to seeing Kimbo Slice face UFC legend and former WWF superstar Ken Shamrock. They trahsed talked for a while and it had been 5 months since Kimbo's last fight. When I got home I find out that Shamrock pulled out because of a cut on his face. Kimbo didn't care. He wanted to fight someone. My first thought was Kimbo didn't know this replacement's stragety and his game. I felt like Kimbo would destroy this guy in a munite. Tunrs out that the match ended 47 seconds sooner than I thought. Oh, I forgot. Kimbo lost...............WTF? IF you saw the fight, you know what I mean. I dunno is dude him Kimbo, Kimbo was dazed, and he took the beating on the floor, or he just gave up. What a shocker! Im happy I didn't go. I dunno how imob comes back after this. He maybe a fraud and only doing this for the $, not because he is good. But thats typical, ya know? People who do something they arent so good at, only to get paid well (most rappers?).
I am not a Cubs fan by any means, but boy did I feel bad about them getting swept last night at the hands of the Dodgers? 100 years with a title. Wow. I had faith in them, but, like every year, they let their fans down. The worst part about it for me was Manny Ramirez, a guy who could be playing for the Marlins right now (and the Marlins could be in the playoffs right now) being, well, Manny Ramirez. Hustling. Having fun. Something he wasn't doing much of in Boston. When Jason Bay playing well, I doubt Sox fans miss him. Anyways, the Cubs can't win. They have lost 9 straight playoff games. Yuck
The only joy I got this weekend was today's shocking win for the Dolphins. Two wins in a row. Against a good team in San Diego. They had a balanced offense. Their defense kept LT in check. The wildcat formation didn't gain many yards since SD knew it was coming, but they still didn't do much to stop it. 11 wildcats for 49 yards and Ronnie Brown's only TD. Chad Pennington made NO mistakes. Word? Word! That 4 and goal from the 1 was a classic goalline stand. I am so happy. Can't believe we have won 2 straight games (hell, Im happy we ahve won 2 games in a season!). I honestly think we can beat the pathetic Texans on the road next weekend. Maybe that can be my suicide pick......................

SWAMPED!!!!!!!!!!
This was a crazy ass weekend for college football. I was really looking forward to watching Alabama/Georgia, but by the time halftime roled around, Alabama was "Rolling tide" all over Georgia's black jerseys. I HATE Nick Satan (Sabin) with a passion, but he is doing a good job there. Their passing offense is good and their defense can stop anybody. I wont be shcoked if Saban returns to Miami for a national title game.
I said it was a crazy ass weekend, right? FIU won!!! BIG!!!! WTF?!!?! Slapping around Toledo!!!!! Wow.
No Dolphins this weekend, but looking forward to next weeks game vs. LT and SD

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not trying to defend tha Pats, but whoever said that any QB can work the Pats offense needs to be shot. Today's game proved that the QB must be good in order for the offense to work. Today showed how badly Tom Brady is missed. Matt Cassell looked awful. Randy Moss wasnt a factor. The AFC East is sooooooooooooooo wide open. The Jets play tomorrow (weird that they couldnt beat the Pats last week, but Miami destroyed the Pats today on the road). The Bills barely beat the Raiders (Thank God they did, I had them in my suicide pool and now I move on). The Dolphins have 2 weeks to soak this in until the face the Chargers in Miami.
Other weekend notes:
I could care less about FIU's new stadium. The will continue to be terrible until I Am in my 30s. Yea, I go to the school, but their football sucks, but is getting better.
Soooooooooooooooo happy that the U beat down Texam A&M saturday. Looks like we FINALLY had a passing offense, something we havent seen that was good and maybe consistent since the Ken Dorsey days. I hope it can continue and we can beat North Caroline and beat down FSU the next week.

some NFL week 2 thoughts
Suprises:
Bills: I cant stand the Bills since I am a Dolphins fan, but they have looked good. They beat down Seattle last week and hold on to beat an 0-2 Jaguars team. I am still kind of iffy on Trean Edwards, but as long as he diesnt make any big mistakes, the Bills will be in the running for the AFC east crown.
Titans: Accoding to a titans cource, they will not take care of the crybaby Vince Young. Cant blame them. That have had it somewhat easy. They were able to rattle and sack David Garrad and beat up on a team in turmoil in the Bengals. Kerry Collins was mistake free while RB Chris Johnson ran for 100+ yards. As of now, they dont seen to need Young. As long as they can aviod mistakes, play good D and run, they can possibly be in the hunt for the playoffs
Panthers: I admit it. I though the PAnthers would be done without Steve Smith. Not only are they 2-0 but now that they have Smith back, the can do some serious damage. The guted out a win in SD on the final play, then they were able to score on the Bears tough D. Whtn Smith back, I espect them to go deep often and score often.
Disappointments:
Seahawks: Wow. The Bills loss I can understand. But lose to the 49ers at home in that loud ass stadium when ya had the lead? Wow. Can't believe it. Matt Hasselback hasn't played well and every WR they have look sto be injured. What will happen next?
Bengals: They really upset me. With the arrests and Chad JOHNSON (not ocho cinco) acting up, they could have use this is fuel. Ah no. Carson Palmer isnt pyaing well, the runnign game is avewrage at best and the D is being eaten alive. I smell Marvin Lewis gone before the season ends.
Vikings: If they played their cards right, they could be 2-0. If they scored TDs, they could be 1-1. They are neither for two reasons: mistakes and no TDs. I saw the whole game sunday. They had the Colts beaten in the 1st half. Adrian Peterson running amok. Their D getting to Peyton Manning. And what happens? They cant scored TDs. The end result? a GW FG for the Colts to avoid 0-2. They really gotta score TDs. Tavaris Jackson smust throw better and lead him team to TDs.
Other teams that maybe could have qualified for either list:
Browns (0-2): Look who they have faced: A scoring machine in Dallas and a tought loss in tough wing vs the Steelers.
Cardinals (2-0): Who did they beat? San Fran and Miami. Maybe not
Chargers: They lost on the last play in week 1, but lost in week 2 cause they got screwed. that last loss wasn't the fault, but they should be 1-1.
Mondays Eagles/Cowboys game was one of the most entertaining games Ive ever seen. My views were the same as 18.6 million people who watched it, making thegame the most watched cable event EVER. Bigger than the Sopranos finale. I said the Egles havent proven anything, but I was wrong. They were a fumble away from pissibly beating the 'Boys. I like the Cowboys to win it all.

NFL Week 1 Roundup
I interned a few weeks ago at 790 the ticket on a sunday and we did a mock fantasy draft. I went 10th. The usual suspects were taken early (LT, Randy Moss, Marion Barber, etc.) I took the first QB which was Tom Brady. If that was really my first pick, I would be soooooooooo pissed right now. I know he had the foot injury, but DAMN are the Pats screwed or what!?!!??! I still think they can win the AFC East. We will get a real look at backup QB Matt Cassell when they play the Jets sunday (will have a preview of that in the next blog). It wasnt a dirty on Bradys o that thought should not be looked at. It's an unfortunate injury, similar to what happened to Carson Palmer 2 years ago in a playoff loss to the Steelers. The Jets look to be the favrite in the East, while the Bills, who looked impressive in a beatdown win over the Seahawks, could not contend.
Speaking of top QBs, Peyton Manning looked like a shell of himself as the Bears shocked the Colts. Manning, while in the pockets, is always shuffling and looking for an open receiver. He didn't do much shuffling, a sign that his injuired leg is sitll bothering him. It didn't help that offensive weapons Joseph Addai and Dallas Clark left with injuries. The Colts still have a good offense, but Manning needs to be completely for the Colts to win games
Speaking of injuired QBs, wht the hell is wrong with Vince Young?!!? He gets booed after throwing an INT, pulls himself out, goes back in, and gets injuired 4 plays later? And to makes matters worse, his family could not find for 4 hours on monday. I think that has blown out of proportion. There are times hwere you are going through some problems and you just want to get away. Leave the cell at home and just be by yourself or with some friends. I remember reading a story on how Vince wanted to retire after his rookie season. Now I just read that he is "emotionally unstable." WTF? This the NFL!!!!!!! Aint no punks allowed!!1 IF you have a good game, youw ill be preiased for it, but if you have a bad game, you will get killed for it. And I though that LT was the biggest pussy in sports.
Anyways, lets find out whos on the rise and whos on the fall from week 1:
On the rise: QBs
Tony Romo: He got killed for going ot Mexico with Jessica the week before losing to the Giants. He played in a golf tournament and got killed for not "taking football seriously." Seems like he knows what he doing. Romo torched the upstart Browns for 320 yards and one TD. The real test comes for Romo when the Cowboys host the Eagles on MNF.
Drew Brees: The Saints were considered a huge disappointment last season, but after Hurricane Gustav was coming their way, the Saints put a smile on their fans' faces, especially Brees, with 343 yards and 3 TDs. With Reggie bush being used the right way (mix rusn with passes) and Jeremey Shockey as yet another threat for the Saints offense, the Saints held off the visiting Bucs.
Donavan McNabb: I said in my last blog that the Eagles should not be given the NFC East title, but after that thrashed the Rams, I may be taking back what I said. Well, maybe not. This is a Rams team that has always had a crappy defense. However McNabb loked completely healthy and looked like the McNabb who lead the Eagles to 4 straight NFc title games with mostly crappy WRs. He gets a bad rep in Philly, but he takes the hate and, as of now, has turned int into success. Monday's game at Dallas will be a true test.
on the fall:
Tom Brady: Yea this may be a cheap shot, but what more can I say? He didn't play much on sunday, but some people think you can plug in any QB in the Pats offense and you can still score points. Um no. Well its not proven yet. Brady is done for the year and the Pats's postseason chances may have gone down with it.
Matt Hasselback: boy did he stink. Ths Seahawks offense never got in going as the Bills smacked the NCF West champs up. Hasselback threw for only 190 yards. To make matters worse, Seahawks WR Nate Burleson is done for the season with a knee injury.
David Garrrad: He wasnt terrible vs the Titants with 215 pass yars, but a lost fumble and 2 INTs sure didnt help, especially when he only threw 3 last season. The running game seems to always be there, but the passing game must get better, especially when WR Jerry porter gets healthy.
RBs on the rise:
Michael Turner: There was no room for him to be a used RB since LT running in SD, but now in Atlanta, its his job to lose and by the looks of it, he may never lose his job. He ran for 222 yards and 2TDs. the Northern Illinios standout ran up and down a already bad DET defense. HE helped out rookie QB Matt Ryan who first pass was a TD. I dont expect Ryan to throw alot, especially if the running game is established. As long as he can manage the game and espablish play action, the Falsons offense can put points on the board.
Willie Parker: fast Wilie PArker picked up where he left off last season with a stellar running performance against an improving HOU defense. His 3 rushing TDs in the game already passed his total from last season (2). The Steelers look to pound the ball and throw deep.
Marr Forte: Who? Bears's RB who ran over a Colts D that allowed the fewest points last season. The Bears' gameplan looks like this: establish the run, play good D (which they did) and throw
when necessary.
RBs on the fall
Ricky Williams/Ronnie Brown: They should be one of the best RB combos, but with an O-Line that hasn't clicked yet, they stumbled to 47 yards on 16 carries combined. This surely wont cut it. With QB Chad Pennington still trying to find a WR, the running game must get better
WRs on the rise:
Eddie Royal: 9 catches for 146 yards. Nothing else to say. The Broncos torched the Raiders 8th ranked pass defense with ease. They should have more success against the Chagers, especially with no Shawne Merriman.
Plaxico Burress: After receiving a new contract Plax showed why he deserved it, with a 133 yeard receving game against rival Washington.
Im gonna cut this short since I am tired and need to stop writing so much

NFL Week 1
Redskins at Giants
Giants: Im looking forward to seeing the Giants D since Osi Umenyiora is out for the season. That defense had a great season, especially in the playoffs, shutting down a Dallas offense who scored plenty points and the once undefeated Patriots team who has arguably the best offensive season in NFL history. I believe Eli Manning shut up alot of doubters, but he still needs to manage a game. He wont throw up crazy numbers like his brother Peyton, but as long as he can balance his passing, he should be fine. I dont expect him to throw many INTs. The running game should be fine. The WRs dropped alot of balls. If that happsn too often, look for the Giants to run mor often.
Redskins: The Reskins on paper looked like they got better with the newly aquired Jason Taylor. taylor may not play due to a knee injury, but when with Taylor happy, does that make them a better team? No really. The jury is still out on QB Jason Campbell. I like him, not because he has the same last name as me, but because, even though he has had to learn so many offensive systems, he still is a decent QB. His starting receivers arent that tall (Randle El is 5'10, Moss is 5'10 also). They dont seem to use Randle El as good as he was used in Pittsburgh. He was part of the best WR corp in the NFL, but it looks like a case of guy-has-a-breakout-season-signs-with-another-team-for-big-money-and-hasnt-done-well-since syndrome. The defense will be better with a healthy Taylor, but the offense will determine if the Skins have a chance in the tought NFC East.
NY Jets at Dolphins
(Lets get one thing straight before I start: I am NOT picking this game because I am a Dolphins fan.)
Jets- They have one of the biggest, if not the biggest, offseason of any team in the NFL. Before you-know-who was acquired, they spent $ on Kris Jenkins, Alan Faneca and Damien Woody. Jenkinfs will help with the Jets' not-so-great pass defense, while Faneca and Woody will help O-Line standout D'Brickashaw Fergusonprotect that "guy" who made alot of noise inside the Packers front office. Brett Favre can still throw it as hard as anyone on earth. Can he be accurate on a new team? Favre fell off the past few years until last season, where the Packers should have gone on to face the Patriots in the superbowl. Whose fault was it that GB was beaten? Favre. I believe Favre can get the Jets back into the playoffs, as long as the INTs aren't there and the run defense gets better. The run game was in the top 20, but the Jets can't solely rely on Favre to bail them out. I expect a big season from Jericho Cotchery. The pass defense was in the top 10 in passing yards allowed. They will only get better
Dolphins: FINALLY something positive to talk about when it comes to Miami. One teams trash coould be another team's treasure. I was for getting Chad Pennington when the Jets relseased him. He makes the Dolphins WRs look halfway decent. Chad Henne looks to be the future of the Dolphins. IF they dont let him play, does not bother me. Cam Cameron probably wrecked John Beck for sending him too early last season. Ted Ginn still isn't #1 receiver worthy, but he should be getting way more punt/returns for TDs than the 1Td he got. I like Ernest Wilford as a #2 WR, not a #1. The RB situation looks good. Seeing him firsthand, Ricky Williams looks scary good. He has lost weight and can till run the sweep better than anyone on earth. If he stays healthy (if Ronnie Brown can stay healthy too), dont be shocked if you see a 2000+ total years combined by both guys. The defense looks better. Im cool with a 3-4 defense since the LBs are fast and can knock out players (Porter, though injuired, Crowder, still young, Roth, even though changing positions, looks good.) Im excited to see what goes on with the team
Cowboys at Browns
Cowboys: I was very high on Dallas last season. I was shocked when they lost to the Giants. The loss looked to be because of dropped passes and Tony Romo. I am big on Romo, but he has to win a playoff game. And dont tell me the reason why they lost was because of Jessica Simpson. Im still puzzled as to why people think the Eagles will win the NFC East. Hell, Sports Illustrated has them losing in the Superbowl. Um, no. Sorry Philly fans, no superbowl for you. The Cowboys got better with the gamble that, for now, turned in their favor in acquiring Adam Jones. He still has game, so I see him improving a pass defense that has a happy Terrance Newman and a more determied Roy Williams who did not have a great year last year. Terrell Owens will be 35 in December and they aren't any other good WRs left. Sam Hurd is eh. Patrick Crayton is a decent #2. I wont put Philly over Dallas just yet.
Browns: Theres a reasonw hy the Browns are on prometime TV 5 times this season: The are GOOD. They will win the NFC North. Derek Anderson is coming off a concussion in the preseason, but appears to be ok. If not, Brady Quinn looks to be ready. Jamal Lewis still has some game left as hes pusing 30. He can still get the job done for the moment. That offensive line is one of the best in the NFL so Lewis should have no problem gaining 1000+ yards on the ground. I am so excited about the WRs and TEs. I was a Bralyon Edwards fans back when he was at Michigan. With the speedy Donte Stallworth on the other side, the field could be wide open for Cleveland. They balanced offense will lead to many play action situations and many points. The defense could be their downfall. The 3rd worst D in the NFL is puzzling, even with a defensive minded coach in Romeo Crennel.
Carolina at San Diego
Panthers: It just seems like Jake Delhomme cant stay healthy. This time, its the elbow. at 33, his body looks to breaking down. This doesnt helped the league's 29th worst offense. With no Deshaun Foster in the backfield, the PAnthers got explosive with drafting RB standout from Oregon, Jonathan Stewart and the speedy Deangelo Williams. Though Steve Smith will miss the first two games because of a fight, look for him to come out in the third game with a vengeance. The Defense relies on one person: Julius Peppers. He had a down year last year, but looks to be in top form this year.
Chargers: 2 years ago, they should have won the superbowl, but tha Patriots ended that and a 14-2 season where the biggest crybaby in sports, Ladainian Tomlinson, had his best season ever. Last season, they shocked the Colts, but, once again, lost to the Pats. I expect them to still will the weak ass AFC West. Their offense is still good, with Phillip Rivers being healthy after playing with a broken leg. WR Chris Chambers will be in his first full season with the Bolts so expect him to have a solid season. The defense is young, but what the hell is Shawne Merriman doing?! Ending his career at 24? Theres still next year, but maybe he thinks the Chargers' window of opportunity is closing. Antonio Cromarte
Vikings at Packers
Vikings: I am very high on Minnesota. They have the best run defense in the NFL and got better with the adition of Jared Allen. They had the best running game in the NFL with the explosion of Adrian Peterson. His numbers may go down since defenses may be able to figure him out (like Reggie Bush last season, though Peterson is better physicallt at RB). While rushing on both offense and defense is good, their passing offense and defense is not so great. The Vikings had the worst pass D in the NFL. Their passing offense is one of the worst. There is a reason why the Vikings were in the hunt for Brett Favre. Ive seen Tavaris JAcson in preseason and he has looked good. He had a leg injury, but seems fine. They cant soley rely on Peterson to run all game. Jackson has to pass when needed and get the passing game working
Packers: It was very quiet at Packers camp this offseason................well maybe not. I was for getting rid of Favre, but if he still has game, maybe they should have not gotten rid of him. Thats why Packer fans better pray that Aaron Rodgers looks anything like he did in one half of football last year vs the Cowboys. That offense has major talent and was the 2nd best offense in football. Ryan grant can be effective when healthy. Greg Jenings was a standout WR and Donaly Driver can stil play well. The defense cais balanced and the secondary is getting older but still decent.

College Football is HERE!!!!!!!!!!
Next weekend is like a wet dream. First the UM/UF game. then the next day is the start of the NFL season (well, not exactly. WAS/NYG kicks off the season on Thursday). Boy what a difference a few months make. When I saw this game on the schedule, I just said a loss for Miami. Then everything changed last month. Brett Farve is traded to the Jets. They release Chad Pennington, only to have the Dolphins pick him up. I was for him coming here with the QB situation. Now it has worked out. He makes the mediocre Dolphins WRs look decent. He may not throw deep too well, but he is accurate as hell. I am very excited about the Dolphins. I think they can go 6-10. The whole ides of keeping 4 QBs was needed when they traded Josh McCown to the Panthers. Not sure if Beck will stay, but we will see when 6pm comes. That's when they NFL rosters must be cut down to 53.
I am gonna give my "expert" opinion on the 5 most intriguing games for the upcoming weekends on the NFL. I am not always right, so bare with me. I will do my best to point out they best games to watch. Also I will be doing a "who's hot/not" after games so the reader will have knowledge as to who is doing well in the NFL and maybe they can use that for their fantasy teams.
sigh...................I said it yesterday and i will say it again: the Marlins will LOSE 2 of 3 to the Mets. Ever since that 7 game home stand with the Cubs and Cardinals, they have SUCKED. Kevin Gregg is horrible. Their offense is not consistent anymore. Their defense is still one of the worst (ask Hanley Ramirez after losing that first of a 3 game series vs the Braves earlier this week. Well maybe they would have not been in that situation had Gregg pitched well). And last night, I didn't even shake my head. I knew yet another blown save was coming. Carlos Beltran smack a grand slam in the bleachers. To hear those Mets fans was reminiscent of hearing Cubs fans a few weeks ago in a situation where a HR gave them the lead in the 9th. This team will be doing what I will be dong come October: Watching College Football and the NFL and NOT playing in the postseason.

Dolphins FINALLY put a smile on my face
Random notes:
What I learned from watching the Olympics:
I forgot how fast my Jamaican people were. I always went to Jamaica for summer when I was a teenager and every time they would race, they would always blow past me. I was never a fast runner, so I always lost. Usain Bolt showboating in the 100m final was fine by me. One thing I like about sports is the personalities. Funny dudes like Shaq. Guys who are honest like Terrell Owens. Men who dont hold back like Charles Barkley. I enjoy entertainment. I dont want athletes who are like robots. Peyton Manning was a robot until he started doing those funny commercials. I am soooooooooo happy that Jamaica was the events they won. With the crime that goes down over there (especially in Kingston), Im happy they have something to cheer about.
Michale Phelps is not human. People wanna say he is taking something. Why is it that when an athlete is dominating, he must be doping? This man swims/trains longer in a week that most people who have a full time job. He's ripped and as inpired me to find a pool to swim, because I get easily bored working out at the gym. I hope he wins more medals in the next Olympics.
Team USA FINALLY shuts up the doubters and wins the gold medal in Men's Basketball. That gold medal game was too close. I did expect a beatdown like the previous meeting, but Spain would not go away. USAs D wasnt good, especially in the paint. Thank God for Kobe. He played great D and took over in the 4th qtr. D-Wade was Lebron were the 2 best players for team USA. I cant wait to see Wade with Michael Beasley and Shawn Marion.
There were so many hotties. Where do I begin? Lolo Jones, Alicia Sacramone, the entire brazilian vollyball team (indoor and beach), etc.

D-Wade is BACK!!!!
Side Notes: I read about a fight that took place at Dolphins camp. I'm going to the evening practice, so hopefully another fight breaks out.
If the Marlins do not score many runs, I will FOREVER say that "What if Manny was here?" 16 RBIs on 12 games with LA. DAMN!!!!!!!!!
This is mt first blog, and hopefully it wont be my last.
